    [SOLVED] retrieving files and info

    i posted here a few days ago as i had a bod upgrade from 2008.1 spring and 2009. i have 2009 working on another partition. i cant boot to the older 2008 nor will 2009 red any of the files from the old. says i have not permission when i boot to mandriva 1 live i can see these files so they are still there and i have had some excess files but i need to get my bookmarks from Firefox. can i do that in this situation?

    If you simply need to grab a few files from the old system, the easiest/quickest way might be to use the PartedMagic LiveCD to fetch, and then copy/paste them.

    You can then use the same CD to remove all traces of the old system, if you wish. Remember that you might need to edit your current fstab and menu.lst files if you should make any changes to the partition tables.
