    Exclamation Newbie: no internet connection, no sound

    hi
    Just now installed Mandriva 2009 (KDE4.1.2)
    Internet not getting connected. my ISP has given me username and password to access the internet (ethernet). but how do i configure linux for this?
    secondly, i have sound blaster live sound card. but i cant hear any sound.
    what should i do?

    Not sure of your network setup eg: do you go through a router/dailup etc.

    However if you go to MCC(Configure your computer) >Network and Internet Setup a new interface.

    Regards your sound check the obvious first like its not muted or turned down
