i am having mandriva 2009. But when i boot, it does not show any login screen. Rather it logs me automatically without requiring a password. What do i do??...

Welcome to the forums!

Look around in the Control Center for the option to change from auto login to password required. I'm not running Mandriva so can't give the exact path to where the option is, but you should be able to find it, or perhaps someone running Mandriva can map it out.oz
