    My DVD-RW is seen as HDD.


    For some reason my DVDRW is seen as an HDD. Any suggestions?

    What do you mean it is seen as a HDD? If it's seen as /dev/hdd or /dev/hdc, that's normal. That is how your PATA drives are read: hda, hdb, hdc, hdd. These go along with the Primary Master, Slave, Secondary Master, Slave.
