    root problems

All the files from my camera that I download and some other files automatically go under root access only. I have to keep typing in as root chown -R username:username /home/username every time I want to change or delete these files. it gets pretty frustrating. Any ideas how I can make it stop doing this?

How do you download from your camera to your home directory?
e.g. are you connecting the camera via USB? where does it mount? does root own the mnt folder?

    camera download

I use the card reader that is part of my HP printer and DigiKam. When I plug the card in it asks me if I want to open in new window, download with DigiKam or cancel. I choose DigiKam. they download just fine and i can view the images.
