Mandriva Corporate Server 4.0

hi all. I've just installed a trial edition of mandriva linux corporate server 4.0. everything went ok, but i cannot use the network interface. eth0 has been statically configured and I even took down shorewall but... nothing. network interface is up, but I have no internet connection or connection to my other computers through a switch. when I try to ping something it's always the same reply:
"destination host unreachable".

do you have any ideas?? please help.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There maybe a setting that is not configured correctly. Run the Mandriva Control Center, go to the networking section and check that all the settings are correctly configured for your network interface.

that was the first thing I thought of. but there is no problem with the configuration. I have checked all the addresses several times. I don't know what else to do...
