way to make programs auto-start?
on linux mint all i had to do was control panel, sessions then click add and browse to the program..and what is the general path to a installed program say skype for instance, so i know where to browse to thanks

The way I do it is to put a startup script in the following path...
/home/"user"/.kde/Autostart/

ok got it now how do i fix the hang before it boots time? i want it just to shot right in but it sits for like 10 seconds

Does the program you are trying to start require the Display Manager to function? (In other words does it use a gui?) If not then you can probably initiate it earlier in the boot process...look at this ->
