    Where does mandriva keep....

its file that contains all the aliases that are preset? For instance l is aliased ls and s is alised to cd, but i found these by accident and was interested in reading through the script with all of them. I am pretty new to linux and am trying to explore a bit.

    Hi and Welcome !

Check the contents of .bashrc file in your home folder.
    less .bashrc
    Press q to quit.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
