Where to type in mandriva linux one spring edition?

I am very new to mandriva.By searching the internet I managed to find out how to change my resolution, how to use install and remove programs, and how to update my video drivers.I know how to listen music, how to watch movies, how to surf my PC,and how to use WINE for installing windows software. So I know basic things.
What I donţt know is how to run sh files and others like that.Every program usually tells me how to install it,but I donţt know where to type.I tried run command and konsole, but it doesnt work.Only XFdrake runs on konsole.
Maybe I need to write somewhere else?Im missing something, thats for sure.

    CTC Tutorial on Shell Scripts

In brief set permissions to executable to run it simply by calling the name of the script.
    Code:
    chmod u+x /path/to/example.sh

    /path/to/example.sh
