    Mandriva takes a very long time to load/Can't get in


    It hasn't been updated in ages...Primarily because I can't even get in in the first place. I can log in, but when it gets to the final loading screen it just stops. I waited about 12 minutes, then I had to hold down the power button. There's not really much installed on that OS. I have two OS if that helps any: Mandriva on one partition and Vista on the other.

    I tried safe mode but it's confusing to me. I have the feeling I should be typing some commands, but I don't know any at all.

    what are your system specs
    have you tried the esc button while its booting u can see which process its hanging on
