Laptop 15.4" inch widescreen resolution 1280x800
Hi,
I am a newbie to Linux and just installed Mandrake 10.0 Official release on my Fujitsu Siemens Laptop Amilo M 1420 series with 15.4" Widescreen.
Integrated AIT Radeon 9600 mobility gpu with 128 MB dedicated RAM.
I can't choose the optimal resolution for my screen, which is 1280x800 pixels.
That specific resolution is not listed in the generic LCD display option.
What shall I do? Can I make a conf file and force the system to use the optimal resolution?
Please help me.

You can try adding that res to the correct line in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf (or XF86Config-4). Just go to the screen section and add it to the 'Modes' line under the color depth that you want to use. AFAIK, this should work.
