    I am new to Mandrake and for some reason that star is buggin me. How can I change the star icon that is used for the "start" button.

    As root, change /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/16x16/menuk-mdk.png to whatever icon you want. The icon with this name will be the startmenu icon.
