skype still available for mandriva?
being interested in installing skype, I was irritated to see that the skype site
does not offer an RPM for mandriva despite alot of reference to it online.
I found a mandriva rpm for it in several places elsewhere and they all had a bad key.
I installed one and it worked once, never again- and now my audio is screwed.
I am not able to record in soundrecorder or audacity anymore
and messing with the mixers and driver settings has had zero- to negative effect.
no options that I can give skype results in an improvement.
I do not know where to go from here, as uninstalling also had no effect
on bringing back my audio.
I can hear that my mic is working, but software is not picking up up for anything.
any input is appriciated
Im running 2009.1
on an IBM thinkpad

You should uninstall it completely and grasp the static release from skype.com
http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-linux-beta-static
Unpack it somewhere and link the install dir to /usr/share/skype
This works great for me.
EDIT
This worked great for me in 2009.1.
I'm using the Mandriva shipped version in 2010.0 and no complaint at all.
