    Still Sound Problem


    For the life of me I cannot get my sound to work on Mandrake 9.2. I dont even think the system recognizes the card plugged in. This is extreamly frustrating. Can any one help me?!?!?!

    do you get any error messages when kde/gnome starts ?

    What sound card? Kernel version?

    The sound card is

    Asound Gold.

    the kernel version, I dont know right now, I'm not on my own computer. But I think It's 2.2.6???????? Or something like that.

    Does it detect your sound card or is it you just get no sound? Is it ISA or PCI? If it is ISA check the IRQ and update the driver. If PCI, update the driver. Try updateing to 10.1.
    Give as much info as you can.

    MY sound.

    It's PCI. For some reason it's not detected at all. However, I think my motherboard may be goin bad or something, because by usb port's stopped working within the past week. But my sound has never worked, and i have had it plugged up since I had XP(it worked then).

    Basically it stopped working when I switched to Mandrake.
