2.6.8 & 2.6.9 Kernel Panic
Hello, I've been using 2.6.7 kernel I compiled myself on Mandrake 10, no problems. When I try to upgrade to 2.6.8 or 2.6.9, either Mandrake precompiled kernel or compiling it myself, i get kernel panic, no init found... but it's there in /boot !
I notice that 2.6.8 & 2.6.9 bootup routine now treats my SATA drives as SCSI, not IDE, so I changed HDA1 to SDA1 in lilo.conf, still no bootup.
Did 2.6.8 break something for Mandrake ? Didn't it change the SCSI driver .. SATA seems to get treated as SCSI now, not IDE.
thanks
Rod
