Mandrake 10
I'm new to Mandrake. I've recently installed Mandrake 10 into a VMWare virtual machine and I'm trying to install the VMWare tools.
This install has to be done while logged in as root in runlevel 3
I've gotten the system into runlevel three while logged into the graphical, which of course shuts down XFree86.
Now the problem is no matter what I do I can't login as root. I've also tried su, but that doesn't work either. I can login as a user, but not as the root user.
Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind, I figured it out.
Once I enabled root to be shown on the graphical login, I was able to login in text mode using root.
I didn't realize that if root was a hidden user, you couldn't login as root in text mode.
