    I used to have an HSP56 micromodem. I am pretty sure it is a winmodem. But... almost none of my hardware was supported under Mandrake 8.2 when I had it, so I never used the modem. You may have better luck in your modem being supported in a newer version of Mandrake. I have 10.0 now and I am a lot more satisfied with the hardware support in the newer versions.
