Mandrake 9.1 - gamma question
Please go easy on a complete newbie. I am a long time windows user, but I have succesfully installed Mandrake 9.1 on a Dell Inspiron 4100 laptop with an nVidia GForce graphics card. The install went glitch-free.
The screen appearance seems too bright, though. I need to adjust the gamma values (which I have also had to do on my windows partition). But I can't find anywhere to adjust these values. I have done some research into the matter and found a few threads that refer to a plug in called KGamma. I tried to download this distribution and install it, but on install I get an error : "can't find x include paths". Then I want to X11R6 and found that I do not have a directory named include in X11R6. Again, this is on a completely clean install.
So my question is the following: Is there an easy and fuss-free way to get access to adjusting the gamma values under Mandrake 9.1 with KDE desktop? What is the simplest and easiest way to do this without jumping fences, shell commands etc..?
Any help is much appreciated!
