Hi . I'm using Mandrake 10.0 and for the longest time I had no sound. Then I found sndconfig and used it to correct the IRQ and DMAs . The sound card is working ok now (it's an SB 32/64 compatible) but I can't get GNOME or KDE to deliver any audio notifications (ie windows opening or closing etc.) I can get totem to play any wave ,ogg mp3 file that I want.
I tried both KDE's and Gnome's configuration wizards but to no avail. And although the sound does work , the Mandrake Control center dosen't show a sound card. Any Ideas ??
