No internet/network connection

I cannot connect the internet. I'm using a netgear router into a cable modem (SerfboardSB4100) to Blueyonder ISP. Realteck RTL-8139 network card. My setup is Athlon XP2400 1.25 Gig ram Navida NV17 GeForce4 MX 440 AGP Maxtor 6Y160PO HDD. Can someone explain how to configure my connection?

First off, check that your NIC is recognized by Mandrake. Open up a terminal, run "su -", "lspci" and "lsmod" and paste the results here.

Second, is the ISP you are using using DHCP or PPPOE? If it are using DHCP, run "dhcpcd -h <yourhostname> eth0" or "pump -i eth0" as root. If you are using PPPOE, check out the rp-pppoe program at www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe.

Cannot get "pump -i eth0" to run says command not found same result with dhcpcd -h <yourhostname> eth0.
