    Problems with boot on laptop

    Hi guys,
    I just installed Madrake 10.1 and when I boot up it displays L 99 99 99 99 99...etc. Everytime i install and set up the video card (Geforce 4 440 M) the screen freezes and I lose the install, If I dont set it up I get the 99 crap. Any pointes?? thx

    I have a compaq Presario Laptop with a AMD 64. The Video card is a Geforce 4 440 GO with 64mbs (dedicated) I got past the 99 99 99 crap but that was only if I didn't set up the video card. The laptop is a widescreen and when I run StartX it says unable to resolve screen. Every configuration i've tried with the X -configure makes my screen all messed up and the picture wont display
