Mandrake as a server
I am kinda familiar to Mandrake linux, and I have a computer that I would like to be put in use. I am thinking about turning my peer-to-peer network into a client/server network. Would Mandrake Linux have everything I need, including an Active Directory Alternative to make this spare computer a server?

Essentially yes it has what you need. Although I've got to ask, what sort of active directory features do you need for a personal lan? It can't be that big a network.
