help mandrake10.1 upgrade kde3.3 & gnome2.8 but no deskt
i ve upgraded my kde3.2 to kde 3.3then i restarted i cannot see kde at the login anymore so i chose gnome .Then i upgraded gnome 2.6 to 2.8 and restated ,i cannot see the usual login ,i just saw a login with loin and password no desktop to choose and when i enter my login details and enter it will wait for 112mn and come back to the login.pls help me i love linux but with this i always boot in windows..help!!!!!!!!!!!

Try doing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (this will get you into command line) in the login area and type
If that doesn't work tryCode:startx
orCode:switchdesk

i reboot using failsafe bcos ctrl+alt+del could not work at the login
so at the shell prompt i type su for root right but when i type "#switchdesk" and "#xwmconfig" it tells me bad command
for "#startx" it shows a black like trying to show something but come back to shell prompt with this error :

i type kde at the shell prompt and i had this error:
Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
at least one device section is required
(EE) Problem parsing the config file
(EE)Error parsing the config file
Fatal server error :
so screen found
Then i view the the content of /etc/X11/xorg.conf by typing "less /etc/X11/xorg.conf " but there nothing in the xorg.conf and also there is nothing in the "XF86Config" file
plz help !!!!!!!!!
