Hello everyone. I just installed 10.1 community today dual-boot with xp. The installation appeared to go well. On booting, i get the lilo boot prompt, and can boot windows xp from this no problem, but when i choose linux, booting starts and then hangs after about 30 seconds, during "checking for new hardware". This also happens if i choose 'failsafe' also.

I read elsewhere to try ACPI=OFF but this doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas how i could get going as i'm having to write this using windows - yuck!
