I did a fresh install of Mandrake 10.0 roughly a week ago. Shortly after, I updated the Mandrake OS on-line. When I restarted my computer, the Sans and Serif font files were corrupted, leaving my desktop icon names appearing double spaced, similar to this:

H o m e

T r a s h

W e l c o m e

Once this happened, I changed my desktop font selection, but it didn't appeal to me. I reinstalled without updating.

I've found only one post about this subject, which did not note any support resolution to the issue. I'd really like to run the updates on my Mandrake 10.0 (which there are now 544MB worth), but am afraid that this bug will reoccur.

Any input, news, or advice?

Thanks,
Lexor
