I know that java is installed and running because when I runCode:[....@localhost ......]$ /home/username/Install/LimeWireLinux.bin Prepare to install... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... Launching installer... Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/zerog/lax/LAX
I get the following.Code:java -version
So anyclues of why I am getting this error and what can I do to fix this.Code:java version "1.4.2_05" java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_05-b04, mixed mode)
I will say that I have added the path the my .bash_profile
Maybe I added it wrong?

I had some problems installing limewire as well. Let me ask you a few questions first.
- Are you using Sun or Blackdown Java?
- Are you using the JRE or the SDK?
- Did you install Java using RPM or by hand?
My suggestion would be to make sure you're using Sun's SDK installed by hand. I had problems with Sun's JRE and both the JRE and SDK installed using RPM.

Im using Suns Java, using the JRE that came preinstalled on Mandrake 10.
I have an .rpm for JRE1.3.1, but the version on my machine that came with the Install for Mandrake was JRE-1.4.2_05.
Not sure if this helps, also what do you mean by, ' Install by hand'?

I had major issues with the Java RPM that came with MDK 10. I'd suggest uninstalling it and installing the SDK (not the JRE) trom Sun's website. It's a .bin file. Execute it in the directory you want it installed (for example, /usr/local/java).

Remember to tell the limewire installer where the java/bin directory is, so that it can use it during installation.

Explain..Like commands, Im fairly new.. but I will tell you that through MC I opened the bin file and edited the lin VM_PATH_SEARCH (Or something to that extent to read the path where the bin was located. Still no dice though..
