new install
Hello. I have just installed Mandrake 10.1 alongside wxp pro. I'm new to linux but the install went smoothly. The only thing I couldn't get to work is my alcatel speedtouch usb modem.
I looked at a few howto's and searched these forums and I am attempting to run speedtouchconf that I got from sourceforge which should get me up and running. I have managed to un tar (is that the right term?) and have created the speedtouch folder in root. The documentation says to follow the script's instructions but whenever I try to run the speedtouch.sh file it won't run. Do I run this .sh file in konsole?
Thanks.

From konsole - I do su and it changes to root. I forget the error, something like bad command and unable to find file.

Try this:
chmod +x script.sh
and ./script.sh or sh script.sh
Good luck

Thanks for all the replies. Here's how it's going so far:
If I run speedtouchconf.sh I get - no such file or directory
Same message doing chmod
If I put sh before it i get - command not found.
