Good to hear. Perhaps if others have a problem, you can post a tutorial?

how to solve firefox thunderbird install problem

    1. download the fire fox package and extract it

    2. copy and paste the following into the console:

    scim -f x11 -c simple -ns socket -d
    export LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8
    export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
    export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim

    3 fun ./firefox installer

4 after install edit the "firefox" shell script with a text editor

5 paste the four line showen instage 2 under the comments and before the opening brackets
    save

now when you run the firefox shell script firefox should work normally

this method also works for thunderbird
