I get problems like "modem too busy" and if i try a different port i get the same message but sometimes i get "cant find modem"....

I believe Mandrake uses the RedHat Package Manager, so you download an RPM, and then you can go to the command line, and type rpm -ivh <package-name>.
I can't help you with the modem problem, though. Sorry.

what program do you use to connect to the internet?try using kppp firstly and do a query modem to check if linux recognises it...post what errors do you get when trying to connect....
