Wireless Lan Card
Hi i am new to Linux and no very clued up on it
i have installed Mandrake 10.1 on my dell laptop i have a wireless lan card for my home network but it has not been detected by mandrake its a Xterasys i have found the drivers but i am not sure what to do to get them installed can anyone please help?

Can you please give us a little more info? At least tell us the format of the driver and any errors you get when you attempt to install. Also, detailed instructions on how to install software (including drivers) can be found here.

Hi the card is an Xterasys pcmcia wireless lan they don't do drivers for it but apparently drivers for a Realtek RTL8180 drivers will work according to their website the driver file i have down loaded ends .tar
