    cant play audio cd's

    hi i am using Linux Mandrake 10.0 official on my Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop with a mastero sound card. i am unable to play any audio cd. the error message is 'unable to read superblock' and it occurs with all the audio cd's. the sound system itself is fine because i can play any mp3's from the HDD's without any trouble. any help would be much appreciated.

    I dont know if its me, But i think I answered question regarding audio CD to like... 6 people in 3 days.. but anyway here's the deal
    audio CD are not to be mounted when you want to play them
    libcdaudio1
    libalsa* are needed
    you can play AUDIO CD from Kaffeine easy
    in the play option you have CD
    if it still doesnt play, go in terminal and type alsamixer and make sure PCM and master are a a resonable volume

    It all this doesnt work, post again here

    Yeah it seems that way. I actually had a problem there, the cd started playing but there was no sound. I new it worked cause every other app from internet and xmms had sound perfectly. Really weird huh?
