Very slow KDE?

Ok, i just installed newest version 10.1 off. to my computer. There is big problem though, it is slow as hell. With KDE it takes over 5 mins to load a program (for example broswer, or other simply programs). With Gnomes&others it loads abit slower only 2 mins

I have 512 Megas swap and linux is installed to ext3 drive. When i check my memory, it says evrything is ok and i have 90% free, same with prosessor.

This is my whole Computer:
-AMD athlon 1800+ palomino (1.53gHz)
-Ge Force 2 64mb
-Abit KR7A motherboard
-Hynix 768MB DDR 333MHz
-Samsung SM-308B CD-RW/DVD Combo 8x 4x 32x / 8x
-Teac CD-552E 52x CD
-Samsung SP 400 2H 40GB 7200rpm
-Soundblaster 128 PCI
-Samsung floppy
-win2k installed to diffrent partition (it should have nothing to do with this)

It for sure shouldn't take that long!

For starters... Try starting a program from the comand line, both a KDE Native and non. Something like Konqueror and Mozilla.

Let's see if you're getting any errors.
