    modem and mandrake 9.1

    [size=18]iam using mandrake 9.1 lonstar 3-i 586 20030523
    my modem is:
    00:oa communication controller: ambient technologies inc HAM controllerless modem ( rev 02)
    flag: medium devesel , IRQ 9
    memory at : 2 8000000 (32-bite,non-prefetchable )
    [ size =4k]
    I/O ports at e 800 {size=256]
    capabilities : availiable only to root
    e 800-e 8ff pci device 1813: 4000

    can i use this modem with mandrake 9.1 ?
    if not, can i rehabilitate it ?
    if not, what modem do i have to buy ?
    one last question
    how can i get the kernel

    check out for advice on what to do as far as internal/PCI/Winmodems are concerned.

    You may have recived the kernel source with your dfistro (check /usr/src/linux) although you may not have loaded it at instal time. If not then pop along to and put in the search word kernel and see what you get.
