    Cant get online

I am a complete newbie to linux, trying to use mandrake. I have a winmodem that I know is nothing but trouble. I herd serial, or hardware based modems work great with linux. So I bought a supraexpress 56e Pro, serial modem. I booted up mandrake, and used the internet setup wizard. But all it detects is the winmodem, and it says I cant use it. When I go into hardrake, it detects 2 modems, but only gives me information on the winmodem. The other modem just says "modem" and has absolutely no other info. WHat do I do. Keep in mind Im a complete newb.

Testing? What's that? If it compiles, it is good, if it boots up, it is perfect. ~ Linus Torvalds
