howdy, i've just installed mandrake 10.1 community release on a spare hard drive i had lying around, and i need to configure my wireless connection. at the moment i'm switching between windows xp and linux trying to get this thing to work. apparently my wireless card has the prism54 chipset, so i figured i would install those at the initial mandrake install since the drivers are included. the setup didn't do anything for me, so i'm thinking it's probably a firmware issue. anyway, having read up on some stuff, i have 2 options. install the prism 54 drivers (don't know how) or install the linksys windows drivers using ndis wrapper (don't know how). i've tried following the directions in the readme's, but i've always come across errors. i'm not exactly clear what the /.configure and make file commands do.
any help is appreciated!
