Midi and Rosegarden problems
I have few problems with my Linux machine. First of all, my Midi Processing Unit 401 chipset seems to be disabled. I can play wav, ogg, mp3 but no midi files. Applications such as RoseGarden won't run or in the best case scenario, it will create midi files that cannot be played back. However I can play midi files using Timidity. According to Windows, my MPU can be accessed through I/O 330h IRQ5. I was told that windows uses some softsynth to handle the MPU 401, if so is there any similar thing in Linux? I run Mandrake 10.1 Powerpack, my sound card is SiS7012 PCI Sound Accellerator (HardDrake detected).
Any suggestion is highly appreciated
