    Updating Bios

I'm trying to get my dell laptop to recognise and load usb drivers at boot, but its a pretty old laptop. i fugured i would have to update the bios as there is absolutely no mention of usb in in it. is it possible to do this through linux, as i can only really find bios updates that install through windows, and i am pretty much a linux noob. cheers

What model laptop is it, and are you using a USB PCMCIA card or is USB built in to the laptop?
