    change resolutions

    I tried changing my resolution in mandrake 10.1, I set it to go to 1280x1024 (17" lcd, its native res) it told me it had to restart kde in order to make the change.. I said okay.. it restarted now I have no display.. out of range it says. how do I get this back and why would it be out of range? this screen runs at 1280x768 @ 75hz?

    17" monitors have native res 1024x768 afaik. . ..

    no, native resolution of almost every 17" lcd made is 1280x1024
    not to mention I have had this screen for a year running at 1280x1024 win xp.

    Check your xorg.conf file to see what the defaults are and change accordingly.
