GRUB AND LILO failed

ok, i tried installing mandrake the other day only to find that i had installed LILO to the wrong partition... so i decided to just go ahead and reinstall everything all over again. I went with GRUB this time around and everything was set the way it should've been(as far as i know)... but for some reason when my computer started, all that showed up was this:

I waited for about 2-3 minutes to see if my computer was being retarded, but nothing happened. I went into rescue mode on the mandrake CD and reinstalled lilo... but after i rebooted, all that came up was something like this:

Regarding your lilo error, I found this:

0x07

“Invalid initialization”. The BIOS failed to properly initialize the disk controller. You should control the BIOS setup parameters. A warm boot might help, too. (Boot a rescue disc and rerun LILO.)

maybe you should try what is said in the quote?

First time installing SUSE 9.2 on my PC.

I installed onto a slave partition and after successful install I get blank screen with:

GRUB

switching over to LILO instead I get:
07 07 07 07 07.....

Any suggestions?
