cd-rom acting odd
I am having probelms. I just installed Mandrake 9.0 the other day (its the only cd I have to install it and am not able to download and install the newest at the moment.) I am trying to play music cds on it and its not working.
When I put any data cds in it works (any type of programs.) When I put a music cd in it gives me an error. In Konqueror it gives me this error (as a user and as root):
When I try to access it in the shell (as root and as a regular user) it says:Unable to enter file:/mnt/cdrom. You do not have access rights to this location.
Any ideas?bash: cd: /mnt/rom: Input/output error

Is it properly mounting the drive? I have seen a problem before where it won't mount the CD drive if it's not a redbook audio CD or a data CD. Try (as su):
mount /mnt/cdrom
Then try accessing it. If you still get an error accessing it, try
chmod a+r /mnt/cdrom
Hope this helps. Probably won't, but at least I try

Nope. I got the same Input\output error for both. Thanks for trying!
