Problems with bittorrent
Hi,
I have problems with btdownloadgui.py. My web browser tries to open a file i try to download with this application, but it fails. When i run it from shell, it returns:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 28, in ?
import gtk
ImportError: No module named gtk
i have installed bittorrent 4.0, and i thought i had installed everything else bittorrent depended upon. where can the problem lie?
i am able to download from a shell by using btdownloadcurses.py, but this is to geek-like for me in the long run.

no, i couldn't urpmi-install bittorrent 4.0. i think a used a rpm i found somewhere else, probably on rpm.pbone.net.
from the installation dvd i could install bittorrent 3.etc, but i won't work now that bittorrent 4.0 is already installed.

It looks like it needs the pygtk package to be installed.

You may just want to uninstall version 4 and then install the "stock" Mandrake version of bittorent.

I suppose this means that one should keep the rpms. i always remove them...

You don't have to keep the rpm to remove it after it's been installed. You just have to know the package name to uninstall it. If you can't remember the package name, go into the Mandrake Control Center and go into Remove Installed Software and you can search for it and remove it from there.
