Weird restart option
Can anyone help me? i just did a little mistake when i chose the way i restart Mandrake linux 10.0. There was an option where i could chose how to reboot. I didn't freaken know and i chose restart in linux from the KDE dropbox login screen. A big mistake for me coz now i can't login Mandrake with a GUI like windows, what i only see is in the console shell mode (like Dos screen). Does anyone know how to fix this ? and please help me to get to the Mandrake Linux nomal login KDE screen. Or the only way to fix this is to reinstall the Mandrake? I don't really know why Mandrake has this stupid option.
i had looked into the file etc/inittab and found "id5:initdefault:". I tried the command: startx and xinit && xterm but i still can't get back to the GUI login screen
startx returns me back to the console shell login black screen.
Message from startx or xinit && xterm:
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on XServer":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have you tried "xorgconfig"?
You will need you monitor, keyboard and mouse specs.
Hope this helps. How to know if you are a geek.
