Help with getting my WUSB11 2.6 to work and ACPI please!
The WUSB11 2.6 is a linksys wireless adapter. It won't work!

Obviously the problem is where it says "failed with -32" but I have no idea how to fix this! Any ideas?Code:usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using Address 2 3rdparty/at76c503a/usbdfu.c: USB Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) handler v0.12beta14-cvs20072004 loading 3rdparty/at76c503a/at76c503.c: Generic Atmel at76c503/at76c505 routines v0.12beta14-cvs20072004 3rdparty/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: Atmel at76c503 (RFMD 2958) Wireless LAN Driver v0.12beta14-cvs20072004 loading 3rdparty/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: using compiled-in firmware 3rdparty/at76c503a/at76c503.c: getting firmware failed with -32, or version is 0 3rdparty/at76c503a/at76c503.c: this probably means that the ext. fw was not loaded correctly usbcore: registered new driver at76c505-rfmd2958
And on a side note, how do you set acpi=force on Mandrake 10.1? Where do you enter this?
Thank you!!!!!!!!

I had extensive trouble with this earlier and concluded that in Mandrake 10.1 Official the firmware loading for that driver is broken.
Mandrake 10 works fine however.

I also have had this problem.
When I installed 10.1 (download) for the first time, it did recognize the WUSB11 and everything worked fine after entering the network info. Later I was messing around with multiple sessions and managed to completly lock the system up. After a hard reboot, wlan(0) wouldn't load. I checked the syslog and I get the same thing as you.
Wondering if you've found a solution with 10.1 or if you had to go back to 10.0? I'm considering just installing "Limited ed 2005 Release candidate 2"...
Thanks.

Well I did two things.
1. Installed 2005 LE release candidate 2 (10.2). This didn't quite fit the bill, but there were other reasons to do this.
2. Figured out that there is a missing package in both 10.1 and 10.2 called atmel-firmware. I found it on the web here: http://thekelleys.org.uk/atmel/
I wasn't sure exactly what to get from this directory, so I copied everything an put it on my linux machine. Installed it using the Mandrake Config util. Rebooted the computer and it was working (posting this from the Linux box)!
Hope this helps,

I never did get it working in mine. Went pretty far into the hotplug scripts looking for the problem too. I also installed the firmware from thekelleys with no luck. My hotplug scripts would *never* call the firmware agent to load the firmware, and it looked like a fairly hard problem to track down, so I switched to Mepis 3.3 and compiled in the drivers.
Thanks for the heads up. Glad to hear you got yours working. I am glad that it was just a glitch with my computer and not mandrake as a whole.
