ati display problems mdk 10.1
Hi I have just bought a laptop with amd 64 and installed Mandrake 10.1 x86_64. The installation went just fine and the display settings, everything. When I just started kde after some time I had some strange problems. I get DOTS of every color on the screen, I dont get them on all of the screen. I dont have any idea what can be the problem. Can some one help me here please or give me some idea. oh btw when I type glxinfo I get 4 lines and they are all errors and plus segmentation fault, glxgears does not even starts. Thanks.

Can you give us specs?
Since you've got a laptop, chances are your ATI card is a mobility version. If it's newer, it may be supported by the ATI drivers:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...asp?deptID=894
If it's not supported there, you can always use the GATOS drivers, although they lack the quality of the ATI drivers (but they are opensource):
http://gatos.sourceforge.net/
Good luck!

As I can see on their site there is not support for xorg 6.7 but Xfree86 and Mandrakelinux 10.1 comes with Xorg 6.7, and lets say that that is the main problem. I dont have constant internet connection and cant update it. There are ati drivers for xorg 6.8 but I did not find any for 6.7
