i recently had to swap my HD to another computer with a different BIOS and mainboard/brand (but same cpu i686 type)
Now Lilo won't show at boot-up and GRUB gives ...

partition table error #5
i recently had to swap my HD to another computer with a different BIOS and mainboard/brand (but same cpu i686 type)
Now Lilo won't show at boot-up and GRUB gives a .
My data is intact, all my partitions show at #mount and I can boot from my intall CD.
I reinstated grub in accordance with HOWTO for grub. So is there a way to check my partition table ? and
What is the usual procedure for transferring a Linux HD to another Computer? (eg. if the mainboard blows or other damage)
