As for me, I find that "Mandriva" sounds pretty, though it's 3 syllabus and that's indeed something new in the Linux world...
But since that avoids them a trial, right ...

The last thing I regret is that too many companies change name, to get rid of their loathable public image (like oil or energy companies, for instance, or banks that get a new name after a merger and thousands of fired people), and Mandrake-Mandriva, now, might be confused with those firms changing names for the wrong reasons :-/

For those who don't like the new name it might just because of a psychological effect that you are accustomed to the older name and hence new names are rejected by your mind.
