Apparently, Mandrake is henceforth going to be called Mandriva Linux; this comes, of course, after their acquisition of Conectiva Linux a short while back.

Pretty limited selection there, Flatline. Given the options I say it's good. I think Mandriva sounds okay, I guess. I don't know. Sounds kinda weird, like a name someone would have on a soap opera or something.

They should have stayed with Mandrake, to me it just sounds better.

They should stick with Mandrake. Mandriva has one syllable too many (Su-SE, Red-Hat, Li-nux, Slack-ware, Gen-too, Yo-per, Xan-dros...).

Connectdrake, Candrake, Monnectiva, Mandre 3000....
Probably one of the better choices, Mandriva.Yeah I'll live with it. Gonna be some good times ahead, integrating all of the Connectiva functionality also. If you throw all of the new Mandriva promises and rumours in a box with some of the new visual KDE/Gnome/Xorg stuff we're seeing premiere I don't see how people will be able to stay away from Linux anymore.
Vendors are pumping in support, drivers are being provided (well...) and we're going to have one of the most secure and best looking OSes around.
Good times to come. Bring it on!

Hopefully Mandrake will use the Conectiva graphic artists to work on their default look...I've found Mandrake to be a good distro, but the default look of their desktop just...wasn't...very...nice.

I liked Mandrake... Mandriva does not sound so good to me.

Hi all,
Mandriva...sounds a little weird but it makes sense. I would prefer Mandrake but the name choice does symbolize the coming together of the two.
