When I try to use the "Configure my computer" option, I get an hourglass in the taskbar, then it closes. No prompts, nothing. Same thing with any of the options under System->Configuration->Packaging->
Any one of those that I click I get the same thing. Any ideas?

[root@localhost optik]# drakconf
[root@localhost optik]# /usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/Gtk2/Gtk2.so: undefined symbol: gperl_register_error_domain

1 - Do you use KDE?
2- Do you have "save previous session" option ticked in the KDE configuration dialog?
If so then you need to either uncheck this, or have MCC excluded from your session list. I had this problem before, and when I got it sorted there were more problems of a similar nature with other apps, so I gave up restoring previous sessions.

I've also seen a reinstall of perl fix issues like this.
There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.

Actually after reading this again, yep I'd go with the Perl reinstall. I don't think it's the sessionsave issue at all.
