net not connecting with domain name

Sir,

when i type ip address it is connecting and when give the doamin name it is not connecting.

example :: http://yahoo.com is not making connection
but i am able to connect with http://160...../

how can i change the setting

Im no expert, but sounds like you need to configure your DNS servers, they link the domain names to the actual servers Ip addresses.

Try

ifconfig

in console as root and post what it says...

don't want ifconfig. The windows ipconfig may show dns servers (with /ALL) but not the linux ifconfig. Show us this instead:

cat /etc/resolv.conf

[dark_lord_kodd]
