Recording TV Card
Hello!
I have just successfully installed a TV card (Pinnacle PCTV Rave, stereo).
I tried to use XawTV to record from it, but the files it generates are huge!
The size of them is just impossible, even using a low resolution (even though they're smaller in that case), and changing the output file format doesn't do much!
I think that the problem might be it could be recording using non-compressed formats.
Please help me! (and when I get good, I will answer every newbie question, I promise!)

Well at least your getting something! You should be proud!
What type of files is it outputting? Mpegs?
I believe there is an application called transcode which will convert various types of video file and hopefully would let you compress the files down a bit, have a look for that.

Thank you, I'll try to find that.
In fact, XawTV lets me choose between different output files formats, but not mpeg. There's AVI, Quicktime...
But They're all huge!
I tried the RPM for Zapping, but it doesn't want to install!
Any kind of further help will be welcome!
